Our Carbon Offset Projects
The carbon offset projects offered by Planetair are all Gold Standard certified.
Projects in which Planetair invests include energy efficiency, renewable energy, water management and community projects. These projects are implemented around the world.
Climate change is largely the result of the lifestyles and economic models of developed countries. However, it is the poorest countries that often bear the brunt of climate change. These countries have little or no means to combat climate change. For this reason, Planetair believes it is essential that part of the carbon financing be dedicated to less wealthy countries.
Our Portfolios
We group the projects we support into various portfolios.
The Planetair Global Portfolio is our core portfolio. It includes various Gold Standard certified projects that enable the real, additional, and verified offsetting of greenhouse gas emissions. The climate benefits of these projects are validated through Gold Standard carbon credits, each credit representing one tonne of CO2. This portfolio offers the best value for money.
Our other portfolios include the same Gold Standard projects as the Planetair Global portfolio, plus climate projects based in Canada, Quebec, France and Africa. These portfolios thus increase the local impact of your investment in addition to international Gold Standard projects.

The Planetair Global Portfolio is our core portfolio of carbon offset projects. It offers you the opportunity to offset all your greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions through Gold Standard certified climate projects. The Gold Standard certification assures you that your offsetting is real, measured, transparent, additional and verified.
The Planetair Mondial portfolio offers the best value for money and is aimed at those who wish to neutralize their climate impact in a rigorous and economical way.
We select innovative projects that prevent GHG emissions at source, such as solar and wind energy production, improved domestic ovens and optimized waste management. Unlike tree planting projects which take time to capture carbon, the Gold Standard projects we favour have an immediate positive impact on the climate, responding more adequately to the climate emergency.

Our Planetair Canada-Nature Portfolio is a two-pronged approach designed to support your climate commitment with integrity and credibility.
The first component of our portfolio allows you to offset all your greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions through Gold Standard-certified climate projects. The Gold Standard certification is recognized worldwide for its rigorous criteria and its effectiveness in reducing GHG emissions, thereby ensuring the high quality of the certified projects.
The second component of our portfolio provides you with an opportunity to also support Canada-based projects that are beneficial for the climate. These projects are implemented by our partner, the Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC), and notably contribute to protecting the habitat of over 200 threatened fauna and flora species. Many natural sites supported by these projects are open to the public, thereby promoting the discovery and appreciation of our natural environment.
Thus, your contribution enables Planetair to support both Gold Standard-certified projects and local conservation efforts in Canada.

The Planetair Canada-Trees Portfolio is a two-pronged approach designed to support your climate commitment with integrity and credibility.
The first component of our portfolio allows you to offset all your greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions through Gold Standard-certified climate projects. The Gold Standard certification is recognized worldwide for its rigorous criteria and its effectiveness in reducing GHG emissions, thereby ensuring the high quality of the certified projects.
The second component of our portfolio provides you with an opportunity to also support reforestation initiatives in Canada. These projects are instrumental in sequestering atmospheric greenhouse gases and mitigating the effects of climate change. By investing in these reforestation initiatives, you are also contributing to the protection of local biodiversity.
Thus, your contribution enables Planetair to support both Gold Standard-certified projects and local reforestation efforts in Canada.

Our Planetair Québec-Nature Portfolio is a two-pronged approach designed to support your climate commitment with integrity and credibility.
The first component of our portfolio allows you to offset all your greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions through Gold Standard-certified climate projects. The Gold Standard certification is recognized worldwide for its rigorous criteria and its effectiveness in reducing GHG emissions, thereby ensuring the high quality of the certified projects.
The second component of our portfolio provides you with an opportunity to also support Québec-based projects that are beneficial for the climate. These projects are implemented by our partner, the Nature Conservancy of Canada – Québec Region (NCC), which already protects over 48,000 hectares in Quebec. By supporting NCC’s work, you contribute to the protection of the habitat of over 200 vulnerable fauna and flora species. Many of the protected natural environments are open to the public, thereby promoting the discovery and appreciation of our natural environment.
Thus, your contribution enables Planetair to support both Gold Standard-certified projects and local conservation efforts in Québec.

The first component of our portfolio allows you to offset all your greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions through Gold Standard-certified climate projects. The Gold Standard certification is recognized worldwide for its rigorous criteria and its effectiveness in reducing GHG emissions, thereby ensuring the high quality of the certified projects.
The second component of our portfolio provides you with an opportunity to also support the ÉTS Research Fund on Climate Change, which finances applied university research on the fight against climate change. The engineering research projects focus on technologies for reducing and adapting to climate change, as well as on measurement and modeling.
Thus, your contribution enables Planetair to support both Gold Standard-certified projects and applied research in Canada that will improve our understanding of climate change and support the development of technological solutions.

Our Planetair + BigCoast Forest Climate Initiative is a two-pronged approach designed to support your climate commitment with integrity and credibility.
The first component of our portfolio allows you to offset all your greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions through Gold Standard-certified climate projects. The Gold Standard certification is recognized worldwide for its rigorous criteria and its effectiveness in reducing GHG emissions, thereby ensuring the high quality of the certified projects.
The second component of our portfolio provides you with an opportunity to also support the BigCoast Forest Climate Initiative, a VCS-certified forestry project that conserves over 40,000 hectares of unique forest ecosystems on the West Coast of Canada. This Improved Forest Management (IFM) project located on Vancouver Island, Haida Gwaii, and Coastal British Columbia commits managed forests into conserved ecological areas. The initiative not only increases carbon storage and avoidance of 20 million tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions over the life of the project, but it also conserves charismatic forestland. The project is also certified to the SD VISta standard for its contribution to 5 of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and holds the CORSIA label which standardizes compliance in the aviation sector.
Thus, your contribution enables Planetair to support both Gold Standard-certified projects and the BigCoast Forest Climate Initiative in British Columbia, Canada.

Our Planetair Greater Montreal Portfolio is a two-pronged approach designed to support your climate commitment with integrity and credibility.
The first component of our portfolio allows you to offset all your greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions through Gold Standard-certified climate projects. The Gold Standard certification is recognized worldwide for its rigorous criteria and its effectiveness in reducing GHG emissions, thereby ensuring the high quality of the certified projects.
The second component of the portfolio allows you to also contribute to the implementation of climate-beneficial projects in the Greater Montreal area through our partner, the Nature Conservancy of Canada – Quebec Region (NCC). NCC projects promote the protection of the habitat of numerous animal and plant species in precarious situations. Many of these natural environments are accessible to the public, encouraging the discovery and understanding of nature. Over 1,700 hectares in the Greater Montreal territory are protected this way.
Thus, your contribution enables Planetair to support both Gold Standard-certified projects and projects in the Greater Montreal area.

Our Planetair France Portfolio is a two-pronged approach designed to bolster your climate commitment with robust integrity and credibility.
The first component of our portfolio allows you to offset all your greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions through Gold Standard-certified climate projects. The Gold Standard is globally recognized for its stringent criteria and effectiveness in reducing GHG emissions, thereby ensuring the high quality of the projects. Each tonne of GHG offset by these projects is traceable through a unique certificate, proving an assurance of the integrity, reliability, efficiency, and credibility of the offset.
The second component of this portfolio allows you to support projects in France through the 1% for the Planet France foundation. This climate contribution complements the carbon offsetting provided by the first component of the portfolio.
Therefore, thanks to your contribution, Planetair can support both Gold Standard certified projects and projects in France.

Our Planetair Africa Portfolio is a two-pronged approach designed to bolster your climate commitment with robust integrity and credibility.
The first component of our portfolio allows you to offset all your greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions through Gold Standard-certified climate projects. The Gold Standard is globally recognized for its stringent criteria and effectiveness in reducing GHG emissions, thereby ensuring the high quality of the projects. Each tonne of GHG offset by these projects is traceable through a unique certificate (carbon credit), proving an assurance of the integrity, reliability, efficiency, and credibility of the offset.
The second component of our portfolio allows you to also support two climate projects in Africa. This climate contribution is in addition to the carbon offset provided by the first component of the portfolio.
The first project aims to build habitats adapted to climate change for the benefit of the most disadvantaged families in the Sahel. Our partner, the Nubian Vault Association, has been successfully leading this program since 2000.
The second project seeks, in concert with local communities, to protect one of the last significant swamp forests in Benin from destruction. Our partner Humy launched this project in collaboration with its local partner Ecodec in 2021.
