What is Climate Change?
Climate change means a long-term alteration in weather patterns. Global warming, a rise in the average global temperature, is one way to measure climate change. Global average temperature has risen by 0.6 degrees Celsius since 1900, and the northern hemisphere is now substantially warmer than at any point during the past 1000 years. 11 of the past 12 years were the warmest ever recorded.
